G'day Leeneia, The "brave" boy with the gun is ... one hopes ... becoming only a memory of the past ... and later versions, such as Jim Dixon's post up at: 18 May 12 - 20:31 PM with: Lyr Add: THE LITTLE GIRL AND THE ROBIN (Webb 1893) do show that SOME of the older collections were somewhat kinder! This song appears with musical notation in The New First Music Reader: Preparatory to Sight-Singing by Luther Whiting Mason (Boston: Ginn & Company, 1893), page 102: THE LITTLE GIRL AND THE ROBIN Geo.
