Hi Jim, It was Spiers and Boden's version I was listening to. I don't much like what they do to either the tune or the words (bowdlerising the 'small furrow' line), but it served the purpose of reminding me of the straight unaccompanied version Jon Boden did as part of A Folk Song A Day, which was a lot better. Interesting that it's unattested in tradition apart from the Robert Cinnamond "Beggarman" (Round 3080), which sounds fairly different. Have you got the words for that one?
