I believe that Lodge is the only maker of cast iron cookware in the United States. Even so, their porcelain-coated stuff in simply purchased from Chinese makers. Not fair to compare a $28 skillet of basic cast iron (that a working class family can afford) to a $160 Le Creuset, designer stuff for rich yuppies. Lodge seems to be pushing a "pre-seasoned" line and claims it is better. If anyone has some first-hand experience on this stuff, it would be nice to hear about it.
