I agree that "Last Of The Mohicans" is better than the original book for entertainment value. The book does take some getting into, but once you adjust to the 1820s language and mores, it repays a bit of effort. Interesting to see how much the story was changed. "The Bourne Identity" was a much better film than the book was as a book, IMO, and "Trainspotting" is incomparably better than the book, I reckon.
