Many of our loved ones are here, and we shall at some time be grateful for clinical interventions due to safety as a result of animal testing.

I have a close relative who is testament to modern research. He shouldn't really be here.

At a rough guess, (not mine but published in BMJ) over 95% of all prescription medicines and 65% of over the counter medicines have animal testing in their background.

I'm with Ben Goldacre on this. (Google him. He is far more eloquent on the subject than I can be.).

Funnily enough, in the same way as Jehovas Witnesses are true to their faith till their children need blood.... Nobody goes all ethical on doctors when their lives or the lives of loved ones are in jeopardy.
