Bat Goddess Need 4-Track Cassette Player (1) Need 4-Track Cassette Player 19 May 14

The phone number floated to the surface about 6 months ago of a sound guy that my husband Tom Hall/Curmudgeon's band (Great Bay Company) used back in the '90s. I'd remembered him taping some stuff of the board at a couple St. Patrick's Day performances at The Press Room. So...six months or so ago, I gave him a call. He said he was pretty sure he still had the tapes, but they might be in DAT format and he didn't have a playback device. He also didn't know how long it might take him to actually FIND the tapes...

So on Saturday morning I got a call from him; he'd found the tapes. One was a regular cassette and was of the (I've since researched and found it was 1995) Chowder Fest performance at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH. I listened to it this morning and I am incredibly pleased with what was on it. The band at that time was Tom Hall, David Behm, Bob Frost, Rocky Rockwood, and Jeff Lind. I'd hoped Jay Smith might be on it, but, alas, he wasn't.

Anyway, the other three tapes are 4-track cassette tapes, and my friendly local digitizer doesn't have a playback device for that format and neither do I in my collection of obsolete technology. We are checking with a couple other local friends who run sound professionally and, of course, there are online sources to buy a unit.

But if I can't find one locally, I'd rather buy or borrow one from a fellow Mudcatter. Anybody got one they'd like to stop storing?

Linn
