It is often assumed that all barrier islands are temporary. They have a formation period, a mature period, then they begin a dissolution period. Not sure where Ocracoke is now in that evolution. Blaming this natural process on the boogy man of Global Warming is a pathetic reach. Pure politics. Scientists need not apply.
