Back when I was a Scottish highland dancer, my teacher taught me a great remedy for leg cramps. Put the sole of your foot on something cold. It works. Ice works, so will a cold piece of metal, or the rim of a bathtub.

I wonder how cherry cider, once a farmstand staple, would work. It's delicious stuff. But you don't see it as often as you used to.
