Our part of Maine got about 4 inches of rain, gnu, but no troubles with electricity. When I'm home we're working outside from about 5 AM until dark, so staying cool isn't in the picture - with the bird chorus at dawn and the tree frogs trilling at dusk, we're fine. Need any snails? There are thousands...our chooks are eating them up! I found yet another active robin nest in the pollarded Box Elder in the peony bed. Nigel, thinking about your friend Ian... Do you not realize you have continued Ian's legacy of encouragement to the crew and passengers right here on The Rainbow, as well as to me regarding song composition? He lives! Janie- Despite the heat here, we've had so much rain my Bloodroot patch is still in leaf. Last spring the Purple Gem rhododendrons bloomed twice. I wonder if that will happen again?
