I survived a major stroke some years ago. It took a few years to recover but I've been very lucky. I'm still walking and talking and I used to chat on the phone to Frank Clapton about twice a year until his sad death this Spring. I still keep in touch with Chris Swann, the Pennine Folk lead guitarist who still lives in Hyde. We meet up when he and his family come up to S.W.Scotland each year. Most of the old Pennine Folk attended Frank's funeral at Stoke. The crematorium was packed. He was an active member of the Stoke Operatic Society and still singing up to the end of his life. At the funeral they played a recording of the song Manchester Morning sung by the Pennines. It was the ONLY music in the ceremony. We all felt very honored. Particularly me.
