"…you could leave out your personal negative opinion of what he must have been thinking…." Not my "personal negative opinion." It doesn't take a psychiatrist to figure out what Beethoven was thinking on the described occasion, especially when this was not the only time he went out of his way to "put down" another composer. He was famous for this sort of behavior. He had ego problems. This is not to denigrate Beethoven as a composer. His music speaks for itself. Frankly, I don't see where God comes into it. Nor do I consider politics to be any kind of "art form." A thorough understanding of the principles of politics is a practical necessity, especially in the modern world. Don Firth
