Al yearns for the the same times as me, I think. My drinking apprenticeship was getting them in for Tony Capstick... But the problem is, we turn up at these "people sitting around with books" nights and try to compare them to folk clubs. Perhaps we are also trying to capture a well misspent youth when bemoaning what people call folk clubs now?
