We have a grand piano and a baby grand at church, and both regularly have trouble with loud squeaks in their sustain pedals. Any suggestions on how to lubricate out the squeaks? I rubbed candle wax on the metal shaft connected to the pedal on the grand, and the squeak went away for a while - but not from more than a few weeks. I tried a dry spray lubricant on every friction point I could find on the baby grand, but it still squeaked. I'm very reluctant to use an oil-based lubricant. I hate to call in a tuner for just this problem, and it seems there should be an easy solution. We have a hot, dry climate, and I'm sure that doesn't help the pianos much. -Joe-
