Voyeur on the sunset coast reminds me of something I wrote in a letter that a newspaper kindly published when some loony MP tried a private members' bill to bring back hanging years ago. I said that folklore has it that the condemned man dies with an erection. I pointed out that the whole ethos of executions are to give an erection to those depraved enough to support the wretched idea.
