I can't believe this thread has been revived without anyone mentioning Jake Shimabukuro (take a couple hours and follow what he does... there was even a full hour program on him and how uses the instrument to teach & reach young people.) Not many people don't take it that far, but there's no doubt the instrument is as real as they come.
