It was the remains of a Costco rotisserie roasted chicken after the easy meat had been sliced off. I pout that into a crockpot with "some" water and an array of vegetables based on what was abvailable. It doesn't matter--say, for example, half an onion, a cupful of fresh parsley, slice some carrots, or what have you.

I found it most annoying having to strain out the chicken bones which had fallen apart in the soup. I think it was ten hours on medium heat.
