Thanks, maeve, for bringing up the Silent Auction. Yes Folks, if you are coming, please bring an item to place in the Silent Auction, and some cash or a checkbook for a winning bid on some treasure you find being offered in the auction.

All proceeds from the auction go toward the FSGW Scholarship fund - More people than you might realize have been able to attend the Getaway due to help from the scholarship fund - me included in leaner years.

Let's face it, we are an older bunch, and a lot of folks who attend are living on limited retirement incomes, plus we folkies are generally notorious for spending our lives working at what we love and gives meaning and gives back to the community rather than working for the big bucks. So as modest as the cost of the Getaway is compared to most 3 day weekend retreats to nirvana, it is still a stretch for a fair number of people.

One caveat - space for the auction is limited, so please bring something, but please don't bring a huge number of items or all the contents in the floor of your back bedroom closet, unsorted, in poor repair or ready for the trash, dust-bunnies intact:>)
