Hi Claire, very sorry to read about your bad health and pain. Sometimes listening to one's favourite music helps, at other times we want new music, or total silence while just thinking of nice things. Converting a standard Audio CD to MP3 is not very difficult; free software doing it is available. All you need is a computer with a CD-Rom drive. If you cannot find suitable software, ask us, for example our friend "Bill D". As far as I know, the MP3 format itself is patented; the owners used to charge a licence fee from software developers. Some CDs have secret deviations from the standard, as a copy protection.
