Because we saw No reason to antagonise The Political correctness movement, who had already begun to comment adversely on the "Blacking up " we were attempting to provide variety by interpreting and performing a less well known part of the morris tradition , not to explain or comment on their origins, Having said that, if anybody asked we were always quite happy to acknowledge the minstrelsy influence.
