Dick, you mention Kiveton. Back in the days of it being at The Lord Conyers, I once got a right mouthful off Ernie Sissons for singing a Monty Python comedy song. "This is a traditional club!" he said. Next time, I sang a song I wrote and told some bollocks about it being collected in Scotland by a librarian from Wombwell etc etc. Wellsie told me I'd never go to heaven... Happy days.
