Yes, Robert, Jack is right. According to this site: http://www.lindsaydavidson.co.uk/writebagpipes.html the highland pipes have a range of nine notes. I play Ashokan Farewell on the piano in the key of D. It goes from the A below middle C to the second G above - a range of 14 notes. I don't think you can make it work.
