I believe even Messrs Carroll and Edwards might enjoy an evening at one or two (though perhaps not on the same night as GSS) as they are definitely within the "traditional idiom" even when they occasionally stray from "true folk". Ha! I'm a regular at two singarounds, both of which I enjoy very much indeed. And I don't only listen to traditional songs - I don't always perform traditional songs, even. I do prefer it when I'm not quite the most traditionalist performer in the room, though - I like to feel I've got a standard to live up to.
