I have one going on right now.

When I moved in this apartment complex almost two years ago I was issued a storage cell for my overflow. I put the key - every time - in a certain drawer.

Humph. A few weeks ago I put something in the cell and I remember very well that I did NOT put the key in the proper place. I even remember smiling at the notion that it might be hard to find it again.

Well. I can't find it. My concert series will start in little more than a week and that is where I keep the supplies. So I need the silly thing. Finally gave up and have arranged with Maintenance to slice open the padlock tomorrow. I have a new padlock ready and waiting.

Of course, as soon as I do that I will find the old key.
