Have to confess, I'm the opposite. I was a strict vegetarian for ten years, and was diagnosed Type 2 diabetic three years ago next month, being put on insulin about a year ago. Earlier this year, I was led astray by a chicken sandwich, and have been meatist since then. I've noticed a significant drop in my sugars without altering the amount of insulin I take, and have got a bit more energy than I did when I was veggie. I guess it's different for different people. My husband is veggie for health reasons - highly-processed meat doesn't like him, so it's easier for him to avoid all meat. I tend to stick to non-processed stuff from places where I know the animals were treated properly.
