Hmmmm I suspect that you have more than ONE mouse. I once moved into a house that turned out to have an infestation of mice. What I did: Every night before I went to bed I opened all the bottom cabinets so my two cats could police them. After a couple of episodes of dead mouse, no more mice. I think they moved to more hospitable domiciles.
