Songwriter "The Beard" (aka Simon) in Axminster wrote a good song about prostate cancer. I remember years ago a Tom Paxton song about jogging mania: "twenty five laps around the pond will make you tall and slim and blonde" is all I can remember from it though. The Carrivick Sisters' "Garden Girl" is about the statue of a young girl in a garden in Salcombe, Devon. No huge "message" but a refreshing change from the usual love or protest songs.
