Hi Stuart-- I read the interview...I'd say his influences pretty much mirror mine in the 70's and 80's, but in the 60's my parents steeped me in Baez/Dylan/Ochs material, along with a hefty dose of Guthrie and Seeger and Carter family. My mother was also making tapes for the GIs in VietNam, so I got a whole lot of Tijuana Brass, Vanilla Fudge, Jimi Hendrix, Moody Blues, Greatful Dead, and whatever the soldiers wanted to hear. I grew up in New England, a "fur piece" as they say from Kansas. Middle class family. Hope that helps... V
