No sweat. Characteristically, mid-term elections tend to go against the party of the incumbent president. It gives the "out," but now "in" party an opportunity to show the country how good they are at screwing up....

Locally, things went reasonably well where I live (Washington State). Several issues that needed passing got passed. School funding for smaller classrooms and required background checks before purchasing a firearm--plus the good guys getting reelected in most cases. Two Democratic Senators, both women (Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell) and a Dem. representative in my legislative district (Jim McDermott).

The climate and the sea breezes here in the Great Northwest tend to keep people around here bright-eyed and clear-headed....
