"Bluesified" (Say Mo' Music 007), the new CD from Pittsburgh PA based Ernie Hawkins, has been released 1 Jan 2001. Ernie is a superb acoustic guitarist and vocalist, doing mostly Piedmont and Texas country blues style music on 6 & 12 string guitar. Several of the tracks reflect his primary influences of Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Willie McTell, and various Texas players. Also featured are his country gospel version of Travis's "I Am A Pilgrim", a couple of small band tracks (harmonica, drums, bass & clarinet), an african based piece -"Riding on a Moonbeam" - which could fall into jazz or roots categories, and a special vocal appearance by Maria Muldaur on Davis's "I Belong to the Band" For more info on Ernie and his music, and to order, see http://www.erniehawkins.com For airplay/review copies of "Bluesified", please e-mail me at: gofanu@usachoice.net
