SRS - the ants should die off with the borax - we can't get it here any more, borax, but our ants are not so destructive. This time of year when things are going into Autumn and Winter the numbers should be declining and few if any new queens being produced.

The new computer is not touch screen, and we really don't want to learn to accommodate Windows 8.1 - we want it to work for us. Getting rid of screens which have no purpose has helped, but I find it so slow starting off and it is so annoying when I can't close something because the X in the corner doesn't appear under the cursor and there is no way to get out. Why hide it in the first place? Well - it is for teeny tiny screens I suppose, so every little bit of extra viewing space is precious - but my monitor is really quite large.

It isn't the look of Windows 7 we want but the feel - I don't have the time to wait for it to get ready or to go through the animation. I've done the teenage eyeroll and oh per'leeze at this machine rather a lot - I mean - whoever designed this should grow up a bit and try again because their first attempt needs a lot of pruning and tuning.
