The first 45s I bought by myself were "Duke of Earl" by Gene Chandler, "Her Royal Majesty" by James Darren, and "The Twist" by Chubby Checker. All at once, probably at the Woolworth's on 71st and Greenfield in West Allis, Wisconsin. My first LP purchase was an Andy Williams compilation, "The Best of..." or something like that. (No, just checked and it was the Cadence LP "Andy Williams" from 1958, though I bought it in 1960 or '61.) I bought it before I expanded my LP collection to include "Moon River" and "Warm and Willing". Linn
