John on the Sunset Coast Do You Buy Folk LPs/CD's on Ebay? (4) RE: Do You Buy Folk LPs/CD's on Ebay? 22 Feb 15

First, I buy nothing online. Personal paranoia I guess.

When I was working I would stop at every thrift store and used record store I passed looking for folk LPs. I bought many for 99 cents to a couple of dollars. Among those I found the 1956 Elecktra recording of Glenn Yarborough and Marilyn Child. Ms Child is the cousin of one of my cousins so I bought it. Another is a private recording of a woman I have never heard of. It apparently was gifted to a friend, as the greeting was still on the cello wrapper. When I googled her, I found that she did have one release containing most of those songs which had Van Dyke Parks listed as producer(?) and musician on the album; but whether he performed on the private release, I don't know, as there are no credits.
