There's no scientific basis for acupuncture and there is no scientific explanation for how it allegedly works. It's hard to carry out placebo-type trials because you can't really pretend to be sticking needles in people. If you believe it works for you, go ahead and spend your money. But acupuncture is typically carried out alongside more conventional medicine, so you may never know whether it worked on you or not. It's paracetamol for me any day! |
