Hedge apples... whatever. I got in a 'wee' bit of trouble 63 years ago when we were trying to roll 'em in the street so cars would run over them. Mine bounced & hit the side of a car. Got a lecture.... People in Kansas use the warped trees as cheap hedge rows to keep the cows in. Someone once claimed that if Osage (Maclura pomifera)were frown in a remote forest on the Amazon, people would send expeditions and charge a fortune for the wood. It is fun to work with.
