I was walking home on Tuesday, when a small girl asked to see my umbrella. I gave it to her, and had a minor tussle getting it back. Meanwhile one of her friends requested cookies, or snacks. I had a candy bar in my purse, which I'd bought from a guy selling them for his church. I gave it to her. My second mistake. A short while later there was a group of small girls at my door asking for candy. I'd bought 2 candy bars. I gave them the other one. A short while later they arrived with the empty wrapper and requested more candy. I explained that was all. On Wednesday, a small horde of children arrived at my door, and requested snacks. I supplied cookies. Tonight I passed out peanut butter crackers, and explained what their parents should have explained some time ago, that it was NOT a good idea to take treats from people you don't know. I'm amazed that their parents allowed this.
