I'm still planning to go, but I'm starting to get anxious. For the first time on Saturday I visited my son's family's new home an hour-and-half away and hated the drive. Portsmouth is almost twice as long a trip and means driving through Boston and perhaps worse, Saugus. Then there's parking. The garage worked well for me the last time I went and isn't far from the Press Room, but since my knee injury in December, distance has become relative. I'll wear a knee brace and have my cane so I hope I'll be okay. If I'm lucky enough to find a street spot closer to the Press Room, at what time does one no longer need to pay for street parking? And I'll have to relearn how to get the parking pass from the machine. I'm used to feeding quarters into meters right next to my car. BTW, because my injury is temporary, I don't have a handicapped pass. Even if I did, states don't have to honor passes issued by other states.
