Janie Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort (6596* d) RE: Jane's Rainbow: for all needing support & comfort 20 May 15

In the whole scheme of things not a big concern, but will still ask for healing thoughts for my Mom. As she notes, she is a tough old bird and among my sister, my nephews and me we have the bases covered, but no fun not being very ambulatory, and at an age when having to rely unequally on assorted joints to compensate for injuries to others can cause problems. Mom took a hard fall last weekend in a parking lot leaving a theatrical production. Sprained her left ankle, broke her right knee cap, has a sprained thumb and a black eye.

The sprain is more problematic than the broken kneecap in terms of ambulating, and she says that if she were still a working stiff, she would be taking ugly leave rather than sick leave due to the black eye.

Sis had had driven down here from Maryland on Saturday, to continue her remarkable efforts to help me with home maintenance and repair. She headed up to WV on Sunday to tend to Mom, and I head up on Friday to relieve her. My oldest nephew who lives with her is gone on a very rare vacation to Arizona but will be back by Tuesday and I will head back home and back to work on Wednesday. My youngest nephew, who happens to be a physician, is also attentive but has a busy work schedule plus two preschool kids. He is managing the medical pieces. Mom has had some joint surgeries and other health issues that could be problematic but have not been so far, and it is a huge relief for us non-medical folks to know he is on top of those potential issues and communicating with her doctors, a huge relief and help for us non-medical ignoramuses.

As I read through what I have written, realize it is not so much about asking for good thoughts for my aged mother as it is an expression of gratitude.
