CupOfTea Who would you cruise with? (23) RE: Who would you cruise with? 09 Jul 15

Would be lovely to have the funds to go on a musical cruise! I was longing to go on the Steve & Cindy cruise that Joe was describing - a couple of extraordinarily delightful people to be around.

Joanie Madden of Cherish the Ladies has been doing an Irish Music cruise for years. My friend Mike Mazur was a schanachie telling stories on a couple of them, along with quite a number of headliner- type Irish folk musicians. Joanie is a superb instigator of fun and frolics and I can't imagine having more fun on the water.

Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering has done a couple Autoharp Cruises. I've seen the pictures, with people all decked out in evening dress who I'm more used to seeing in teeshirts - 'twas very interesting.

Both of these were a combination of performances and participation.

I'd also love to go tall ship cruising with folks who sing. Lee Murdock, who specializes in songs of the Great Lakes, has occasionally had some short trip cruises that include music. Tom Kastle, a tall ship captain, is also a great singer and performer, though I don't know that he's done any cruises since he stopped doing the "Great Lakes Whale Watch" cruises (the more you drink, the more whales you see...) It would be interesting to see if anyone is doing music on the Missisippi riverboats now that we no longer have Art Thieme or John Hartford to be making the musical memories there.

Anyone want to take me along on a cruise, I promise to make music, tunes and songs!

Joanne in Cleveland (who has been known to sing on the Put In Bay ferry)
