Just saw on the news a notification of Wayne Carson's passing at the age of 72. Carson was best known as the writer of "Always on My Mind" and "The Letter". But there have been dozens of hits over the past 40 years. Though he was not born in the Ozarks, his connections with Springfiled, Missouri kept drawing him back to the area and we were proud to think of him as a neighbor. In my opinion, "Always on My Mind" is one of the best songs ever written.
