GUEST,just a-passin' through non-Dixieland, non-Celtic tenor banjo (10) non-Dixieland, non-Celtic tenor banjo 22 Jul 15

Looking for tenor banjo music in folk styles other than Dixieland-style jazz (or jazz at all, really) or Irish/Celtic jigs and reels, etc.

Are there country/folk players I can look into?

I suppose ragtime is technically a jazz style... sigh. I hate labels.

I'm just really looking for ballads, sentimental or funny songs... things I can play in my busking act. Sort of Uncle Dave Macon and John Hartford meet Jimmy Durante.
