friend of mine had a new maestro. i was so jealous of the bottle green velour seats.

in fact the 1970's was a velour sort of decade.

i was in a cabaret duo, and i had to buy a velour jacket from Burtons. whittington golf club - we were the cabaret and they wouldn't let us in the front door because we weren't wearing ties.
eventually the manager came out and sadb we could enter through the side door, but we couldn't enter the bar area.

the cabaret spot was a legal requirement. we weren't actually welcome. the longest 35 minutes of my life.

i think we dropped the velour jackets after that.
