Nice to see a return to low-to-basic production values; I especially liked the Fisher King & his space-shuttle-cum-hearse had just the right vibe. Nice to see the Special Weapons Dalek getting an airing (his second since his debut in 1988) but Vikings with horned helmets? Me-thinks they're getting a little too cleverly self-conscious in their self-paroldy.

Bought the new Music of Dr. Who magazine special the other day if only for the picture of Delia Derbyshire (swoon). I think that's what's missing - the sonics are just too ordinary on Nu-Who. Long gone are the days when the Tardis could materialise in a scrap-yard to a radiophonic mytho-poetic parody of Grainer's Old Ned. In these haunted hauntological times you'd think the producers would get with-it!
