GUEST,ollaimh BS: The writ dropped in Canuckistan 150802 (52* d) RE: BS: The writ dropped in Canuckistan 150802 21 Oct 15

thanks all the gods and goddesses we now have a prime minister and a party that has common decency. the liberals have been great for Canada. they brought in all our progressive legislation and were fiscally responsible over all. in fact in spite of tory mythology about the debt, pierre trudeau ran more surplus budgets than all the conservatives combined since the war(WWII).

but harper was such an evil guy.   I thought he was just an oil industry hack, but he actually spent several millions dollars in legal fees to try and hide the criminal records of people convicted of torture and sexual abuse of children. torture convictions are rarer than rare, these were the worst of the worst, and he appealed all the way to the supreme court of Canada to stop these, public records by law, from being seen by the public.and of course lost--as he did with 14 appeals to our highest court.   that's when I knew he was downright evil.

these conservatives really thought the law didn't apply to them.

why did he do it, the children were natives and the criminal torturers were good Christians. he represents the worst of racist Christianity, and the worst of the toxic oil people.

Justin trudeau ran a principled and positive campaign and ignored the cheap shots and smears from both mulcair and harper.

so we are rid of the spendthrift racist tories, and we have a real liberal liberal party.

I thought trudeau did fine in the debates. the format doesn't allow proper debate, so he stuck to headlines on his policies and deflected the feeble attempts by mulcair to bait him with cheap sots about smoking marijuana and about his having speech writer(like they don't all have speech writers), and harper was a dead fish for most of the debates.

the meanness of harpers government self destructed. they could have avoided plowing omnibus bills through parliament, stiffling debate, and manipulating the senate--which led to the duffy affair, and then avoided bribing duffy, and they could have avoided the constant refusal to answer questions and the destruction of scientific work. all for no good reason. they did those things because they are mean bigots kinda like our q.   if they had shown some diplomacy and tact and answered questions, and avoided attacks all the time, they would have been re elected. but as it was they advertised their meanness so much even their own supporters couldn't miss it.

so we have great government with a fantastic list of talented mps, and every reason to be hopefull.
