I took a chance and purchased a whistle from "The Whistlesmith" It is a high G. I really wanted to like it. But I don't. I have whistles from six or seven other manufactures, and I see positive attributes in each.
This whistle, after an afternoon of trying to get to know it is a disappointment. Fussy and hard to play, no other whistle I own needs me to blow so hard to pop the octave. I feel bad because I think these are nice folks, but frankly the whistle blows, and poorly so.
