Oh my, Megan. That is nearly a hurricane force 'breeze!' It definitely seems you live in a wild, severe, and beautiful place where one is ever reminded that we are but part of powerful nature, and not the rulers of nature. I have enjoyed and appreciate all the links so many have shared, but especially enjoy all your videos that provide these lovely walking tours. In this most recent, what happened to all the trees? He mentions the wild hyacinths are evidence that the glen was once quite forested. Where I am from, in West Virginia, much of the place has been clear cut at one time or another, but most of those clear cut slopes somehow reforest themselves within 50-75 years. Re: wt. on the leg, starting this past Monday, 25% of my weight, and doing laps in the house with the walker to promote healing and bone strengthening. Still using the wheelchair for two-handed tasks, or for lengthy distances. Have also been released to drive locally, as long as I use good sense about my endurance with the walker, or have access to an electric cart in stores. Not celebrating yet because it has not been that long - but no cigarettes since 9/15 when I fell. Longest period of time in 45 years I have managed without a cigarette. Gonna get fat again if I keep it up - but maybe my bones won't break so easily next fall.
