Stay with the classical strings, as it was made for that instrument, and the instrument for them, for a particular tone. Steel strings, the same thing. Don't fuck with it. The ONLY thing that you can use, from one of those guitars to the other, is the incorporation of finger techniques! Also, in the mid-60's when the Japaneses started to cash in on the guitar markets, a lot of people dismissed them as cheap, inferior guitars....yes the WERE cheaper, but and old Yamaha, or Suzuki can be a fantastic piece. In the '80's, I was requested to do some acoustic guitar tracks, in a particular studio, in Malibu, Calif. I brought in my Martin, and a Yamaha F-130 (not the top of the line but a great sounding guitar)...We ended up doing the recording on the Yamaha! Take care of that guitar, the way it was supposed to be set up.... ..no political spin about it, either! Regards! GfS
