Just as in music, while there are dedicated amateurs keeping the individual forms of sport (1954 definition) alive (even if they have the occasional disagreement), the bulk of it , just like the music industry, is simply a way of getting bums on seats and so increase the industry's profits. But at least the music industry is honest about the fact that it's only show business.
