Thanks for the link, Martin. I had never heard of the United House of Prayer and its trombone groups before. That performance is what I would call "jazz standard." There's innovation and there are blue notes, but the entire thing is musical - no overblowing the helpless instrument, no gurgling of phlegm. Nice!
