"Just sing the bloody song" is all very well, but if that's all that everyone wanted to do there would be no need for Mudcat." really, what about all the questions about technique related to instrumental playing, the precise point at which mudcat is in my opinion most useful. all these questions about what is folk music etc,never seem to reach a conclusion, and are in my opinion a perfect illustration of discussions going round in circles, and GETTING NOWHERE. Mudcat is also useful as a digital resource for providing words of songs that is possibly what is it needed for as regards the majority of people interested in songs, providing words of songs.
