In the last two months, I have been blasted by sound so loud that I actually screamed in pain and my hands flew to my ears. Both times it was done by amateurs who had no idea what they were doing - they were just fussing with knobs. The pain I felt almost certainly meant that I had just lost more hearing. Yet when I search on the web for basic advice for amateur sound men, I can't find a thing.
